As an Assistant Prosecutions Lawyer specializing in Housing and Litigation you will be integral to supporting the Councils Regulatory and Licensing functions. This role involves managing a diverse and fulfilling caseload centered on licensing and prosecutions law particularly in criminal litigation and licensing matters. You will have the opportunity to represent the Council in Magistrates Courts. We are looking for a legally qualified and driven individual ready to make an immediate impact.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of criminal litigation matters including taking instructions negotiating preparing for court and drafting necessary documents.
- Handle licensing matters by receiving instructions liaising with relevant parties and preparing cases for the Councils Licensing Committee.
- Advocate on behalf of the Council in Magistrates Court or instruct Counsel when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with solicitors courts and external agencies.
- Uphold the Councils values focusing on equality and service excellence.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx).
- Strong understanding and experience in Licensing and Prosecution law.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to the Councils values and service excellence.

Requirements: Admitted to the SRA or FCilex Proven experience as a practicing lawyer Strong analytical and research skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to work independently and in a team Sound knowledge of legal procedures and regulations
