About the Role

This role will be responsible to ensure all Payroll Accounting activities are performed in a timely accurate & efficient manner and in accordance with Group Policies and International Accounting standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Preparation and processing of payroll related journals and maintaining of employee benefits related provision accurately
  • Preparation of monthly and yearly payroll tax calculation and lodgement with the Tax Authorities
  • Key coordinator for Business Engagement with various stakeholders in routine meetings and escalation matters
  • Preparation of monthly variance analysis identify and comment on labour cost movements in the trial balance.
  • Identify and comment on trends or problems regarding outstanding payroll balances manage payments received from employees and contribute to the resolution of employee queries and disputes
  • Manage payroll entry clearing including investigation and follow up with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely allocations
  • Manage cost center queries and perform analysis to ensure reasonable allocation of payroll costs in the cost centers
  • Review and reconciliation of relevant general ledgers to ensure transactions are recorded accurately follow up with stakeholders and clear reconciling items
  • Liaise with external pension actuary for yearly true-ups
  • Preparation of briefing papers and Stewardship Review at financial reporting dates
  • Co-ordinate and assist on the delivery of internal and external audit queries

About You

  • Degree qualification in accounting with proven working experience in accounting or large corporate or professional environment
  • Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA) either completion or currently pursuing will be added advantage
  • Experience in SAP application of finance modules in SAP and related systems
  • Demonstrated strong accounting processes knowledge
  • Understanding of resources industry and mining operations beneficial
  • Experience with shared service functions preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel (macros etc.)
  • Exposure to compliance / governance related activities i.e. SOX
