The use of AI

About the UX Research Internship
The UX Research team at Condé Nast works across all of our global brands (including Vogue GQ Condé Nast Traveller Wired The New Yorker and more) to understand what our audiences need value and experience when using our products. We help shape product strategy by bringing the voice of the user into every stage of design and development from early discovery research through to testing and optimisation.
This is a hands-on internship where youll gain exposure to real projects contribute directly to research activities and learn how research is conducted in a fast-paced media and technology environment. The UX team will support you as you build foundational research skills and confidence.
About the UX Team
Our small UX Research team sits within the wider Product Design and Technology organisation. The UX intern will work closely with UX Researchers Product Designers and Product Managers.
Youll have regular check-ins with a dedicated mentor (Associate UX Researcher / Senior UX Researcher or Lead Researcher) and also have opportunities to shadow each researcher across different pillars attend team meetings and learn how insight feeds into real product decisions.
What will you be doing
You will support research that helps Condé Nast understand how people use our digital products today and what future audiencesincluding Gen Zwill expect from us have the opportunity to contribute to projects focused on improving overall site experience exploring emerging user needs and helping future-proof our products in an increasingly AI-driven landscape.
You will also assist with studies that look at what users value how they engage with content and how we can create experiences that feel intuitive high-quality and user-centred.
Over the 10-week programme you will have the opportunity to support meaningful research activities including:
A typical day may include:
Joining a researcher for a morning usability session taking notes tagging insights in Dovetail attending a design meeting or team stand-up and assisting with materials for an upcoming study. You will also have dedicated time each week to learn new tools methods and foundational research skills with support from your mentor.
Skills you will develop:
User interview techniques.
Usability testing and evaluation.
Note-taking synthesis and insight summarising.
Framing research questions and understanding research goals.
Understanding qualitative and quantitative methods.
Research operations and documentation.
Communicating findings to non-researchers.
Working with cross-functional teams in a real product environment.
Confidence using industry-standard research tools and platforms.
Youll finish the internship with practical experience a deeper understanding of UX research and examples of work you can talk about in future job applications.
About You
Were looking for someone who is:
No specific degree is required though studies in psychology sociology anthropology human-computer interaction design media or other humanities or behavioural sciences may be helpful.
