Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will plan/teachthree sections ofSophomore History and work collaboratively with members of theHistory Department to support student learning and growth. Under the general supervision of theHistory & Social SciencesDepartment Chair this teacher will be responsible for advancing students historical knowledge and understanding through critical reading thinking and writing. As a Needham High School educator this teacher will work collaboratively to integrate the attributes skills and knowledge made explicit in the Portrait of a Needham Graduate emphasizing the preparation of students to become socially and culturally responsive contributors.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required; a Masters degree is preferred.
Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills have experience working with and/or teaching high school students and understand the diverse needs of students at this age.
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license: History 8-12.
Additionally candidates who have a collaborative work ethic training/experience in the use of instructional technology a commitment to inclusive pedagogy and the potential to contribute to student life beyond the classroom are strongly encouraged to apply.
Compensation:
Compensation for substitutes is based on the duration of the coverage:$22.40/hr -$43.23/hr
