Job Summary

Job Title: Registered Nurse Medical/Surgical (Telemetry)

Shift: Night Shift 3x12 Hours
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Location:Syracuse NY

Job Description

Seeking experienced night-shift travel Registered Nurses for adult Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units in a large acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and providing high-quality patient care with minimal orientation.

Experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is preferred. Candidates should be proficient in starting IVs drawing labs and monitoring telemetry patients. Prior experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records is highly desirable.

Nurses will be expected to work every other weekend and may be required to work some holidays. Requests for excessive time off or fixed workdays will not be approved.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of New York

  • BLS certification (must be current and eligible for recertification)

  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (within the past 2 years) in a comparable hospital setting

  • Travelers must have experience in hospitals of equal or greater size or trauma centers

  • EPIC EMR experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • No history of professional license or certification suspension or investigation

  • No prior involvement as a defendant in a professional liability claim

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States

  • Ability to pass pre-employment health clearance drug screening and criminal background check

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments in an acute care setting

  • Deliver safe and effective patient care in the assigned specialty with minimal supervision

  • Initiate and manage IV therapy

  • Draw and process laboratory specimens

  • Monitor and interpret telemetry data

  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Adhere to hospital policies procedures and quality standards
