Primary Purpose: The Credit Manager holds the responsibility of formulating and executing effective credit and collection policies across multiple operations/locations. This pivotal role ensures the safeguarding of company assets and involves training other employees on these processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Credit Portfolio Management: Skillfully manage customer credit portfolios for multiple operations/locations applying sound judgment.
- Credit Approval: Lead the credit approval process and the initiation of new accounts and jobs.
- Lien Management: Prepare and file liens for multiple locations meticulously maintaining the lien log on a weekly basis.
- Collections: Skillfully manage the collection of customer account debt and the retrieval of significant balances.
- Aging Analysis: Regularly review monthly aging reports collaborating with location and regional management for effective action.
- Payment Handling: Supervise the accurate and timely posting of all payments.
- Staff Development: Continuously develop and train Accounts Receivable (A/R) staff and other employees as necessary.
- Bad Debt Analysis: Maintain a proactive bad debt accrual/write-off analysis and submit collections throughout the year.
- Supervisory Role: Effectively carry out supervisory responsibilities including hiring managing coaching mentoring developing and if necessary terminating employees.
- Collaborative Skills: Collaborate effectively with the sales team and other departments to address customer issues and enhance process efficiencies.
- Cash Handling: Manage the daily cash count needs for operation(s) including basic accounting and supply functions as assigned by corporate accounting staff.
- Bank Deposits: Oversee daily bank deposits for assigned operations.
- A/R Department Coverage: Ensure consistent coverage of the A/R department during store business hours from Monday to Friday.
- Standard Work: Improve and maintain uniform credit procedures following the standard work.
- Proactive Red Flag Reporting: Alert profit center GM and Regional Manager to any red flags and critical issues.
- Credit Risk Management: Continuously manage customer credit limits and accounts to align with sales requirements customer circumstances and credit risk management protocols.
- Ad Hoc Tasks: Be willing to undertake other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Outstanding Communication: Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Management Experience: Experience in managing teams and leading them effectively.
- Credit/Lending: Background or expertise in credit and lending practices.
- Relationship Management: Proficient in building and managing relationships.
- Team Player: A consummate team player fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Strong Work Ethic: Demonstrate a strong work ethic motivating the team to excel.
- A/R and Collections: Experience in Accounts Receivable and effective collections practices.
Strongly Preferred Skills:
- Educational Background: Possession of a degree in business finance accounting economics or related fields.
- Construction Industry: Knowledge or prior experience in the construction industry.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using and understanding BisTrack or similar software.
- Microsoft Skills: Proficiency in using and understanding Microsoft programs including Word Excel and Outlook.
