The opportunity
The Mechanical Plant Design team (TPM) part of HVDC is now looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team! You are welcome in our energetic team with a mix of experienced and young engineers and colleagues from diverse nationalities around the world.
The Mechanical Plant Design team (TPM) is part of engineering at HVDC with the mechanical responsibilities for our HVDC Projects on a global scale. We are currently around 200 employees operating from 5 countries.
We engineer the mechanical systems of HVDC converter stations defining how high-voltage equipment is integrated into the overall plant drawings to installation support and final documentation we bring mechanical systems to life - driving the green energy transition in close collaboration with our Plants Civil Tender Project and Electrical Engineering Offices.
As the Global Head of Plants Mechanical I am seeking a dynamic and visionary Senior Project Manager to drive operational excellence and transformation across our global mechanical teams. This is a unique opportunity to lead cross-functional change initiatives develop and implement best practices and shape the future of mechanical engineering within our organization. Your responsibilities
- Global Mechanical Transformation: Lead and coordinate cross-functional continuous improvement (CI) projects to drive transformation and operational excellence in mechanical engineering worldwide.
- Operational Development: Develop and implement strategies for smarter more efficient collaboration within the global mechanical management team.
- Competence Assessment: Standardize and enhance our approach to Functional Competence Assessments (FCA) across all mechanical teams.
- BIM Process Integration: Spearhead the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes into all mechanical teams moving beyond the current setup.
- Execution Planning: Develop and oversee execution plans for our equipment groups ensuring alignment with business objectives and project timelines.
- Change Leadership: Act as a champion for change fostering a culture of innovation collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and adoption of new processes.
- Technology and Innovation Scouting: Monitor emerging technologiessuch as AIand propose solutions that strengthen competitiveness and drive transformation.
Your background
- Proven experience in project management operational development or transformation roles within mechanical engineering or related fields.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional global projects and driving organizational change.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering processes with experience in BIM implementation considered a significant advantage.
- Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a passion for operational excellence.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
