Job Summary

The Mobile School Bus Mechanic will perform vehicle maintenance and repair services at the customers location.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • On-Site Diagnostics and Repairs: Travel to clients locations to diagnose vehicle issues and perform necessary repairs which may include oil changes brake replacements and engine repairs.
  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure vehicles are in optimal condition including tire rotations and fluid checks.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients providing detailed explanations of the vehicles condition required services and cost estimates.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain the mobile mechanics vehicle and tools ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of services performed parts used and customer interactions for future reference and billing purposes.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle types including petrol diesel and hybrid engines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and explain complex mechanical issues in laymans terms.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions.
  • Valid CDL & Drivers License. A clean driving record and the ability to travel independently to various job sites.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field required.
  • Two years of related experience preferred.
  • State inspection license / hydraulics

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobile mechanics primarily work outdoors and on the road providing services at various locations which requires adaptability to different environments and conditions. This role often involves working irregular hours including weekends and holidays to meet customer needs.
