The Role

Newcastle University Business School is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Engagement Coordinator. Your role will oversee and input into the development delivery and promotion of a wide range of employability external engagement and business operations activities across the School.

You will need to have excellent project management skills together with a good understanding of customer service. Along with excellent communication and organisational skills you will also need to have experience of successful event administration/coordination. Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate key projects across employability accreditation rankings and external engagement to ensure effective planning delivery and evaluation
  • Act as the first point of contact for designated employability and careers events providing project oversight logistical coordination and stakeholder support
  • Produce clear and engaging content to promote initiatives to current students and external partners. This includes supporting the marketing of key events to students across suitable channels to maximise awareness and attendance
  • Support accreditation and rankings activity by coordinating data evidence and project tasks across teams to meet internal and external requirements
  • To support and coordinate regular reporting for relevant committees within the School. This will include maintaining and analysing statistical information relating to the activities of the School and providing relevant management information for University/School purposes
  • Manage and develop administrative processes that ensure efficient and effective operations and recording of engagement activities
  • Process finance requests and coordinate relevant budgets including monitoring and reporting on expenditures
  • Willingness and availability to work unsocial hours (evenings and weekends) when required
  • To take on a generic health and safety role within the School
  • Other duties as defined by line manager which support the successful achievement of Business Schools vision strategy and operations

The Person (Essential)


Knowledge Skills and Experience

  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience and understanding of customer relationship management and/or customer service
  • High level of organisational and time management skills and able to manage a range of tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written skills
  • Ability to manage large amounts of information and pay attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills including experience of MS Office packages
  • Sound numeracy skills with the ability to compile interpret and report on statistical and financial data
  • Experience of successful event administration and co-ordination within a large organisation

  • Excellent planning organisational and time management skills with the ability to work independently prioritise workload work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal communication negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of staff and to work well within and across teams

  • Proven ability to use initiative adopt a creative approach to problem solving and exercise judgement in order to consult on and refer issues appropriately
  • Ability and willingness to support colleagues during busy periods

Qualifications

  • Grades A-C in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE (or equivalent level qualification) or experience in a similar role/setting
