Job Summary
The Electrician Apprentice assists in the installation maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment under the supervision of a licensed electrician. This role involves working with various electrical tools and materials interpreting blueprints and ensuring all work complies with relevant codes and safety standards. The apprentice will gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving within industrial settings contributing to the efficient operation of electrical systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment
- Measure cutting bending threading assembling and installation of conduit raceways
- Assist in maintaining tools and games boxes in neat orderly fashion
- Manage material inventory and storage
- Utilize various electrical tools and materials
- Interpret and follow blueprints
- Ensure all work complies with relevant codes and safety standards
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and wiring techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in electrical work
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems wiring and circuitry
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in the electrical trade
- Basic math skills (multiplication addition subtraction and division) and ability to read a tape measure
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
Travel Requirements:
- Anticipated 100% travel to project sites nationwide
- Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings trainings and events.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Bend kneel and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive movements
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
- Ability to lift carry and move objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 pounds
- Adequate vision to perform all required tasks
- Work on ladders scaffolding and rooftops
- Comfortable with heights and able to climb and descend safely
- Strong sense of balance and spatial awareness
- Participate in respiratory fit testing and use as required
