Reporting to the Manager Recruitment & Employee Experience the Consultant Recruitment & Retention is the subject matter expert on the sourcing screening interviewing selection and hiring practices and policies at the IWK. As the subject matter expert they lead and support their designated clients through the full cycle recruitment process ensuring compliance with the appropriate collective agreements human rights legislation and organizational policies including employment equity at each stage. The Consultant Recruitment & Retention works in collaboration with their clients to forecast their short and long-term staffing needs and develops strategies to meet those goals including but not limited to networking with potential candidates including social media platforms networking events job fairs and building partnerships with educational institutions. The Consultants are responsible for facilitating employee lifecycle transactions through consultation with managers about transaction types vetting documentation to ensure compliance with the collective agreement and organizational policy and approval of transactions in a timely manner. The Consultant Recruitment & Retention supports the implementation and coordination of strategic business plans and services to meet the KPIs as outlined in People and Organization Development and business strategy. This position is responsible for all roles including hard-to-fill positions.
Monday-Friday; 60 hours bi-weekly (Remote position however flexibility required to meet on-site).
Graduate of a post-secondary degree and/or Certificate Program in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education training and experience required.
Minimum of five (5) years of Human Resource Management experience with a concentration in recruitment and workforce planning in a complex multi-union environment.
Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation is considered an asset.
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred or willing to pursue these or related appropriate designations.
Membership in local and/or Human Resources Associations and other relevant organizations preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements employment guides and relevant legislation Immigration and Labour legislation visa requirements Human Rights Act Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPOP) and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Good understanding of recruitment and workforce planning practices.
Excellent customer service interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent consultative influencing and mentoring skills.
Effective work practice - accountable dependable flexible persevering sets goals and meets deadlines results-oriented.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint OneNote Teams) MS Edge MS Outlook and human resources information systems (preferably SAP and SuccessFactors).
Competency in other languages is considered an asset.
