Do you have a knack for helping people and keeping things organized Were looking for a Customer Service Clerk to join our Civil department located in our beautiful Delray Beach Courthouse!

As a Court Specialist customer service clerk in you will assist a wide-range of customers coming into the courthouse seeking assistance in relation to civil matters i.e. passports marriage licenses filing civil cases and more! Among other duties you will be tasked with accepting payments and answering customer inquiries via phone and email.

This position is eligible for a one dollar per hour stipend which has already been added to the salary advertised. The one dollar per hour stipend will be awarded upon completion of the introductory period.The stipend will no longer apply should the employee transfer out of this position.

Examples of Essential Functions

  • Records and posts monetary transactions.
  • Protects preserves and maintains public funds within integrity.
  • Prepares the daily cash deposits for the department.
  • Performs daily cash balancing and reconciliation for multiple accounts and locations; processes refund requests.
  • Research unusual items or payment and accounting policy discrepancies and providing resolution accordingly.
  • Ensure accuracy and verification of funds processed.
  • Audits prepares processes and posts various transactions to assigned work unit; performs verification for all transactions received through unit checks and balances procedures.
  • Prepares transaction logs and other routine documentation for assigned duties.
  • Performs purchasing and receiving of goods and services.
  • Transfers cases to other courts/venues; collects applicable fees; prepares and transmits record for transfer; issues receipts for transfer to be completed/returned by receiving court/venue.
  • Intake and process evidence.
  • Review and complete reports

Typical Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or GED) supplemented by five (5) years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data preferably in an automated systems environment;
  • or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Some vocational or college courses preferred.
  • Once qualified deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions.
Additional Qualification for Customer Service in Civil:
  • Must be a US Citizen or US non-citizen national pursuant to 22 C.F.R. 51.22(b) to perform passport services.
