- Dunedin Hospital full time fixed term role available
- Fixed term until November 2026
- Salary Band between $116000 - $145000 p.a

About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to play an important leadership role in the Outpatient Building as its Operational Manager both in terms of playing a leading role in planning for and helping to establish its operating principles and then in its day-to-day operational management once it opens.
This is a new role for Health NZ Southern. The postholder will help facilitate a successful opening and enduring operation of the facility. Bridging healthcare delivery and business management the OB Operational Manager will be responsible for coordinating activities which ensure effective functioning of the OB on a day-to-day basis.
Success in the role will be measured by efficient use of clinical workspaces; improved patient flow; adherence to budget and Health NZ policies and procedures; integration with other Southern health care providers and effective and efficient operation of our administration teams operating from the facility.

About you
Our ideal candidate will:
- A relevant degree or significant demonstrable experience in a related field preferably in health.
- Demonstrable operational management experience preferably in the health sector and/or in comparable facilities within the public sector within large and complex organisations
- Ability to manage complex relationships be a good problem solver and able to multi-task successfully in a fast moving dynamic environment
- Sound understanding of financial management and applying sound judgement in and knowledge of financial reporting
- Demonstrated ability to support and grow a team to ensure the needs of both patient and the organisation are met.
- Sound knowledge of and demonstrable experience in good project governance reporting monitoring and assurance frameworks appropriate to a role of this scale
