As an Occupational Therapist at New Story Schools youll help students strengthen the skills they need to learn communicate and participate more fully in school life. Youll assess functional and sensory needs design individualized interventions and collaborate closely with teachers paraprofessionals and families to ensure each student can achieve greater independence and confidence.
What Youll Need
Current Pennsylvania Occupational Therapist license
Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
Experience working with children or students with developmental behavioral or physical differences
Strong collaboration and communication skills with a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to fostering student success through creative evidence-based interventions
What Youll Do
Evaluate students fine motor sensory and self-care abilities to identify areas for support
Develop individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals and educational outcomes
Deliver one-on-one and small-group therapy sessions to build functional independence
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to integrate sensory and motor strategies into classroom routines
Monitor and document student progress to inform ongoing intervention and IEP updates
