GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

In collaboration with clients and treatment team OT provides services focusing on quality of life and optimal safety and independence in the least restrictive environment by identifying clients strengths limitations and personal goals through formal assessment and professional observations. Therapeutic interventions are consistent with clients goals needs and interests. Interventions are chosen and provided to address needs and identify least restrictive environment and level of support needed to promote positive changes to facilitate success in the community with optimal levels of safety and independence.

The city of Evanston is a small and friendly Rocky Mountain community that is a 45-minute drive from the world-famous ski slopes of Park City Utah. There are concerts shopping dining professional sporting events and an international airport 60 minutes away in Salt Lake City. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.

  • Acts as an active member of an interdisciplinary team for a caseload of clients.
  • Provides evaluation develops treatment plans provides intervention and recommendations for functional performance in daily living skills work leisure social participation motor skills etc.
  • Develops individual therapy programs for clients after assessing the clients ability to perform daily tasks.
  • Plans and directs activities for physical psychological and social needs based on the analysis of the assessment.
  • Develops short and long-term goals that are measurable behavioral and functional.
  • Documents progress in the patients chart and makes changes to the plan as appropriate.
  • Administers manual exercises to ambulatory or non-ambulatory clients to maintain and improve physical capabilities.
  • Attends daily meetings and provides consultation to treatment teams by educating non-occupational therapy staff in activities that support the established intervention plan.
  • Performs administrative duties including but not limited to peer review programs continuing quality improvement programs department meetings with occupational therapy and therapeutic services preparing for student interns taking inventory and ordering supplies.

Qualifications


KNOWLEDGE:


  • Knowledge of Occupational Therapy practice principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of physiology.
  • Knowledge of kinesiology.
  • Knowledge of developmental delays disease processes and treatment approaches.
  • Knowledge of the restorative range of motion therapy.
  • Knowledge of sustained stretch facilitation inhibition and other treatment approaches to tonal dysfunction.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and the effects of therapeutic exercise to improve and/or restore functional abilities.
  • Knowledge of the clinical application of orthopedics.
  • Knowledge of functional activities to improve and/or restore performance.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:
Bachelors Degree (typically in Occupational Therapy)

Experience:
0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Occupational Therapy)

Certificates Licenses Registrations:
Licensure or eligible for licensure in the State of Wyoming as an Occupational Therapist.

Necessary Special Requirements


PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Typically the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however there will be some walking standing bending carrying light items etc.
