Job Description
We are currently seeking a qualified Design Engineer. Successful candidates will be a member team of highly motivated cross-functional design and analysis team contributing to the development of military grade C3ISR equipment. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Development of electromechanical packaging design and analysis and environmental testing.
- Modification of existing product and development of new designs including circuit card assemblies (CCAs) electronics racks shelters enclosures for airborne sea ground and space applications.
- Ensure new designs progress according to technical objectives within budgetary and schedule constraints.
- Assist in specification definition proposal development and presenting proposed design solutions to customers and management both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with modal analysis sinusoidal and random vibration PSD (Power Spectral Density) curves and SRS (Shock Responses Spectrums).
- Experience with aerostructures both composite and metallic analytical methods requirements qualification and regulations typical of DOD customers strongly preferred.
- Proficient in CAD GD&T and drafting standards. Experience with Siemens NX preferred.
- Working knowledge and experience with FEA theory (static and dynamic) (ANSYS/SpaceClaim experience preferred NASTRAN a plus). Experience with composite design and analysis a plus.
- Excellent communication mentoring and presentation skills (written and verbal) are necessary.
- Exposure to and experience with environmental testing i.e. shock vibration environmental stress screening (ESS).
- Design experience with Open Standards: VITA VME PMC and mixed signal board design (RF and Digital) is preferred.
- Must be available to work overtime and weekends when required and travel occasionally.
- Strong work ethic and able to maintain a sense of urgency to ensure obligations are met.
