DUTIESDuties include but are not limited to:Plan organize and provide instruction in English that meet state and federal standardsProvide instruction that is consistent and coordinated with the districts/schools instructional program so as to ensure that students meet and exceed learning targetsDevelop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategiesAdminister academic and language assessments (ACCESS WIDA screeners) for the purpose of evaluating student progress for meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisitionMaintain complete and accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth and progressIn addition to meeting the state licensure requirements ESL teacher candidates must ensure they meet the following additional qualifications:Outstanding personal and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsThe ability to keep concise recordsA sensitivity to the development stages and well-being of ELLsThe ability to work with a diversity of individuals and groups
