Job Description

Seeking experienced day-shift Registered Nurses for adult Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units in a large acute care hospital environment. This position is local rate only.

Candidates must be comfortable providing patient care in a fast-paced setting with minimal orientation. Prior experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers and EPIC Electronic Medical Records is required.

Nurses will be scheduled to work every other weekend and may be required to work some holidays. Requests for excessive time off or fixed workdays will not be approved.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse license in the State of New York
BLS certification (must be current and eligible for recertification)
Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (within the past 2 years) in a comparable hospital setting
Candidates must have experience in hospitals of equal or greater size or trauma centers
Proficiency in Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing
EPIC EMR experience required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
No history of professional license or certification suspension or investigation
No prior involvement as a defendant in a professional liability claim
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Ability to pass pre-employment health clearance drug screening and criminal background check

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments in an acute care setting
Deliver high-quality patient care in Med/Surg and Telemetry units with minimal supervision
Initiate and manage IV therapy
Draw and process laboratory specimens
Monitor and interpret telemetry data
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Adhere to hospital policies procedures and patient safety standards
