Job Summary

Lead AWS Infrastructures community engagement strategy across Latin America building relationships with local stakeholders and organizations to create positive impact while supporting AWSs regional growth. This role requires corporate experience strategic thinking and the ability to represent AWS effectively in community settings.

As the Community Affairs Manager for AWS Infrastructure in Latin America (Brazil Chile and Mexico) you will develop and implement community engagement strategies that support AWSs infrastructure expansion in the region. You will serve as AWSs representative to local communities building relationships with key stakeholders and organizations to understand their needs and collaborate on impactful initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings experience working within corporate structures and community affairs with fluency in English required and Spanish and Portuguese preferred. You should demonstrate the ability to write and speak effectively for audiences of varying sizes think strategically while maintaining attention to detail and work effectively with cross-functional teams. Success in this role requires self-awareness autonomy and alignment with Amazon Leadership Principles particularly Think Big Bias for Action Earn Trust and Ownership. You must be comfortable having difficult conversations with community members while achieving productive outcomes and know when to escalate matters to leadership.

This role requires travel (approximately 25% of time) throughout the region with a base location in São Paulo or other major cities in the region.

Key job responsibilities
- Strategic Community Engagement: Lead community assessment for new infrastructure sites identify potential risks and develop engagement plans to proactively address community concerns while supporting AWSs regional expansion.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including nonprofit organizations community leaders and local officials representing AWS Infrastructure in public meetings and forums.
- Program Development and Implementation: Manage community programs events and initiatives following global standards while ensuring appropriate localization including managing sponsorships and evaluating their effectiveness.
- Communication and Advocacy: Utilize multiple communication channels to promote community initiatives both internally and externally including handling difficult conversations with community members to achieve productive outcomes.
- Impact Measurement: Capture and analyze data to demonstrate the quantified and qualified impact of community engagement initiatives track metrics and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.

- Bachelors degree or 8 years of professional experience in public policy government relations community relations public affairs or corporate social responsibility.
- 5 years of experience working within corporate environments managing stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated experience managing and delivering multiple concurrent projects or initiatives to completion.
- Experience implementing metrics tracking systems and reporting program outcomes with quantifiable results.
- Able to communicate effectively in English within technical and business settings.

- Able to communicate effectively in Spanish within technical and business settings.
- Demonstrated ability to influence diverse stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams across multiple geographies and business units.
- Experience collaborating with technical and product teams to define requirements prioritize features and shape strategic roadmaps.
- Experience developing and implementing community engagement strategies in Latin American markets.
- Track record of successfully navigating complex cultural and political environments while representing a global organization.
