Job Summary
Responsibilities and Duties
- Safe Transportation
- Transport students to and from school field trips sporting events and other off-campus activities.
- Follow a planned route and schedule adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus.
- Ensure the safety of all students while on the bus.
- Student Management
- Assist students with getting on and off the bus including those with disabilities.
- Verify permissions for students riding home with friends.
- Maintain discipline and a safe environment on the bus.
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route.
- Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate authorities.
- Professional Conduct
- Obey all traffic laws and regulations.
- Attend safety meetings and training as required.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and interact positively with students and parents
This job involves sitting for long periods as well as stooping squatting lifting carrying pushing and climbing. Able to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to travel enter and exit a vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions. Random drug tests may be performed.
Requirements

Qualifications
- Possess a current MS driver;s license and Commercial Drivers License Class B with a school bus endorsement required
- You must meet specific physical hearing and vision requirements as outlined by the Mississippi Department of includes passing annual physical examinationsrequired
- Be able to pass a background check required
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment required
- High School diploma or its equivalent required
