TU seeks an Education Abroad Coordinator to assist students throughout the study abroad process including advising sessions assistance with securing travel visas and pre-departure orientations; Manage Terra Dotta application database and the database of approved courses; Make regular updates to Terra Dotta to reflect changes to programs terms or application elements; Research and identify curricular matches between TU and current and potential partner programs and institutions; Assist students in complying with registration and academic credit transfer requirements; Manage CGE Education Abroad outreach events; Manage designated budgets for all special events; Manage the CGE website and serve as liaison with TU web designers; Conduct an annual review of study abroad processes; Liaise with partner universities to promote TU and recruit exchange students; Manage exchange students nomination and application process; Maintain data on the exchange student program and balance numbers; Represent the CGE at campus community and national meetings; Provide accurate reporting regarding programs activities and student advising. Requires a Masters degree in Education or Business Administration; plus 18 months of experience at the college or university level assisting with international education and/or study abroad programs. Requires experience with Terra Dotta database management; and experience processing credit or credit transfers (domestic or international) at the college level. Second language ability preferred. The Education Abroad Coordinator for the Center for Global Engagement will have the responsibility for advising study abroad students during planning in-country and after their program abroad liaising with campus offices and partners abroad managing the CGE Study Abroad databases such as TDS and course approval database and managing the CGE events marketing outreach and website. This position reports to the Director of the CGE . Specific Responsibilities: Conducts individual advising sessions for students planning to study abroad; Articulates and maintains policies to assure academic quality safety financial control and efficient administration; Responds appropriately to the needs of the students parents staff and faculty as they relate to study abroad issues; Provides documentation required for assigned advisees to obtain necessary visas for study abroad; Manages the design and delivery of study abroad information sessions; Advertises and advises for CGEs and other Study Abroad scholarships; Delivers pre-departure orientations; Assists students in complying with registration and academic credit transfer requirements; Communicate with partners and providers to resolve student issues pre-departure during the program abroad or upon return; Manages the database of approved courses; Researches and identifies curricular matches between TU and current and potential partner programs and institutions; Prepares data and supports documentation for matching TU and partner program courses; Works with college/departments to get courses approved and transferred for specific students; Assists students in complying with registration and academic credit transfer requirements; Manage the CGE website including design and regular updates. Serve as liaison with TU web designer. Manages the processes for advising for study abroad to best ensure coordination with databases and website; conduct an annual review of study abroad processes; Make regular updates to Terra Dotta to reflect change or programs terms application elements. Coordinates all aspects of the annual study abroad fairs and photo contests; Designs and coordinate pre-departure orientation sessions; Develops and manage re-entry programs for students returning from studying abroad. Coordinates bi-annual Graduation Sash Ceremony; Manages designated budget for all special events. Produces Education Abroad publications including study abroad handbook advising guides and CGE brochures; Develops promotional materials to assist in-class visits and other TU campus events including Tulsa Time Preview TU Freshmen Orientation etc. Tracks participation of TU students in CGE activities and events. Manages peer advising program involving returning students from study abroad. Recruit participants from returning study abroad participants. Develops training programs for peer advisors to familiarize students with activities in the CGE and promote their inter-cultural development. Supervise peer advisors. Assists with responding to emergencies involving students abroad Represents the CGE at campus community and national meetings as requested Provides accurate reporting regarding programs activities and student advising Keeps data on student participation on different points of the process Answers national surveys on education abroad participation Coordinates the logistics of campus visits from program providers and partner institutions Performs other duties as needed/assigned Assist with occasional special projects which may include short-term programs JumpStartTU ISSS orientations etc.
