Responsibilities
The IS Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering training that ensures physicians nurses and other clinical and non-clinical staff are proficient in the use of hospital information systems. This position emphasizes instructional design content development and delivery of classroom and eLearning courses to support system implementation optimization and ongoing education. The IS Trainer collaborates with IS Informatics and operational leadership to align training with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
In addition to training responsibilities the IS Trainer may provide limited support in informatics activities including workflow feedback documentation review testing and optimization tasks as needed during periods of lower training demand.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in education nursing informatics healthcare administration or related field and two (2) years of experience in healthcare information systems education or informatics
- OR - Associates degree in education nursing informatics healthcare administration or related field and four (4) years of experience in healthcare information systems education or informatics
- OR - Six (6) years in healthcare information systems education or informatics.
- Demonstrated experience in instructional design and training delivery.
PREFERRED
- Clinical degree/license (RN Allied Health etc.).
- Cerner training credential or equivalent EMR training experience.
- Certification in instructional design adult learning or healthcare IT (e.g. CHTS-TR CPHIMS).
- Experience in workflow analysis or informatics.
- Excellent analytical interpersonal and communication skills.
