Job Summary
Engineer plans designs builds and maintains essential infrastructure like roads bridges dams and water systems ensuring projects are safe functional and meet standards using technical skills design software and project management to oversee construction and manage budgets timelines and teams. They conduct site investigations create blueprints assess risks and ensure compliance with regulations working in various sectors from public works to private construction.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Planning: Develop plans and blueprints for infrastructure projects using data from surveys tests and maps.
Project Management: Oversee construction manage budgets timelines and coordinate teams.
Site Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies site investigations and risk assessments.
Technical Duties: Prepare reports specifications and construction documents; ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Maintenance: Supervise the upkeep and operation of existing structures and systems.
Common Projects
Roads railways airports tunnels bridges dams ports.
Water supply sewage systems and drainage.
Buildings (skyscrapers hospitals power stations).
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
Strong problem-solving math and analytical skills.
Proficiency in design and modeling software.
Excellent leadership communication and project management abilities.
Required Skills:
Conducting surveys and gathering data for land development and construction projects. Designing and setting up survey systems including total stations and GPS receivers. Performing calculations and analyzing data to produce accurate survey reports.
