Summary

The position demands a sharp analytical approach meticulous attention to detail and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear implementable guidance. Through active participation in governance forums industry engagements and cross-functional initiatives the Policy Associate helps build secure scalable and customer-focused payment solutions in a rapidly changing financial landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze national and international payment regulations standards and emerging trends to inform policy development and strategic planning.
  • Assist in drafting reviewing and updating internal payment policies procedures and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with compliance risk and legal teams to evaluate policy implications and proactively address potential risks.
  • Provide expert guidance to internal stakeholders on policy interpretation implementation and adherence.
  • Engage in internal and external meetings workshops and industry events to stay abreast of payment innovations regulatory shifts and best practices.
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure policy consistency in payment product design technology deployment and customer experience frameworks.
  • Maintain accurate records of policy changes decision-making rationale and stakeholder input.
  • Monitor payment system performance and identify opportunities for policy enhancements to improve security speed and user satisfaction.
  • Support the creation of reports presentations and briefing materials for senior leadership and governance committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in finance law economics business or a related field.
  • 13 years of experience in financial services policy analysis payments or regulatory consulting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience interpreting complex regulatory environments.
  • Proven track record in advisory or consulting roles within payment systems fintech or banking sectors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience contributing to high-level meetings stakeholder consultations and industry conferences.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g. Excel) and documentation platforms (e.g. SharePoint Confluence).
  • Knowledge of major payment systems (e.g. SEPA SWIFT Faster Payments PCI-DSS) and regulatory authorities (e.g. FCA ECB ISO).
  • Ability to thrive independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training stakeholder engagements or industry events.


Required Skills:

Requirements: Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Business Administration Law or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in policy analysis financial services compliance or payments operations within a regulated environment. Strong understanding of payment systems (e.g. card payments SEPA SWIFT real-time payments) and relevant regulatory frameworks. Proven ability to conduct complex data analysis and translate findings into actionable policy recommendations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information to non-specialist audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint Word) with experience in data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau) a plus. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with risk management frameworks and internal control processes. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative cross-functional team. Willingness to stay current with evolving regulatory landscapes and industry innovations in digital payments.
