SUMMARY:
The Test Flight Engineer Instructor will be responsible for assessing and ensuring simulator fidelity. The Test Flight Engineer Instructor will also provide Aircraft Systems/operational procedures instruction in aircraft/ classroom/ simulator and/or practical environments as needed. Assist as Subject Matter Expert in development of curriculum for new type courses as required. May provide additional special services such as courseware review and other additional administrative duties such as publications safety quality audits FCIF scheduling and other duties as maybe assigned etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Execute flight test plans.
Provide on-site test management data collection briefing debriefing and configuration control.
Annually fly aboard a C-5 in Mission Essential Personnel (MEP) status (or IAW applicable MAJCOM supplement to AFI 11-401) aboard the respective MDS during local flying missions.
Support customer acceptance test procedures.
Support development of training packages based on test results and lessons learned.
Provides Flight Engineer procedures instruction in aircraft classroom and simulator or other platform environments.
Provides training for Visual Threat Recognition Avoidance Training (VTRAT).
Must be thoroughly proficient in evaluating diagnosing and critiquing student performance; identifying learning difficulties; recognizing objectives not accomplished; and prescribing and conducting remedial instruction.
Assists as a Subject Matter Expert in the development of curriculum for new type courses as required.
Acts as a Lesson Subject Matter Expert to review existing lessons and/or changes to existing lessons.
Conducts ground training for other crewmembers to include diagnosis and remediation of student issues.
Assists in project and development work as assigned.
Performs administrative duties such as scheduling record keeping monitoring student progress gradebook entries counseling quality assurance safety security and maintenance of training programs and equipment.
Must be physically able to enter and exit both simulator and aircraft as per government regulations and OSHA standards.
Must be able to stand up and conduct academic instruction in simulator and classrooms for up to six hours each day.
Must maintain proficiency in operation of essential Aircrew Training Devices.
Must maintain requirements for CCAF currency.
Must acquire and maintain instrument take-off landing and emergency procedure proficiency.
Ensure compliance with AETCI 36-2909
Must agree to a one-year contractual commitment (owe pro-rated cost reimbursement to the Government if termination occurs before one year);
Adhere to periodic testing and evaluations on an annual basis pass Government evaluation open and closed book exams and pass flight evaluations on a training device.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree at a regionally accredited educational institution. Previously qualified as an Instructor Flight Engineer with a minimum of 200 hours of experience; or 2 years of C-5 Instructor Flight Engineer experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read analyze and interpret common professional literature. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management and colleagues.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend and calculate ratios and percentages ability to comprehend and apply principles of modern algebra.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Solid technology skills are required including a deep understanding of multiple database technologies enterprise systems integration and software evaluation techniques. The ability to translate differing and possibly conflicting customer needs and preferences into design requirements is essential as well as the ability to reverse engineer business processes and tools. The ability to analyze identify and solve a variety of problems is critical.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
CITIZENSHIP:
U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to obtain a Secret Level Clearance
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Experienced and proficient in the use of standard Personal Computer productivity software tools including word processors spreadsheets presentation graphics project management and databases.
