The Curriculum Planning Branch (CPB) is responsible to the Director APPED (DAPPE) for the development of curriculum for all courses for the preparation of course reading material and the management of lectures and their presentations.
The Branch is also responsible for planning organization management and conducting of study periods including the academic preparation of Field Studies within primarily the Senior Course and the NATO Regional Cooperation Course (NRCC) or other educational activities as directed.
The Incumbent develops and maintains expertise in security issues relevant to NATO including a special focus on partnerships including MD/ICI areas of this expert function s/he designs prepares and executes Study Periods and/or Short Courses and related activities which include the following tasks:
Develop and prepare course materials including syllabi instructional guides and other course materials including case studies e-learning content lecturers biographies and learning consolidation tools.
Develop and deliver lectures and briefings in accordance with NDC Senior Course syllabus or other topics as required.
Coordinate and host guest lectures oversee post-lecture evaluations and contribute to study period reviews.
Accompany the Senior Course the NRCC and other Courses attendees on Field Studies when possible.
Providing academic guidance and mentorship to the Senior Course in particular in the preparation of study projects and individual papers.
Manage the Partnership Real-Time Information Management and Exchange System (e-PRIME) as both Editor and Coordinator Editor
At least 3- 5 years of relevant professional experience in relation to international security defence and foreign affairs.
Knowledge of Middle Eastern and North African societies their socio-political dynamics and Islamic religious traditions and diversity.
Extensive analytical skills and an ability to present complex strategic security issues and policy options in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated expertise with developing planning and implementing short courses or academic activities.
Standard Automated Data Processing (ADP) - good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Application Suite and Internet use.
D. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
2.5 paid days of leave per month worked;
