As a Senior Software Engineer on the Observability Platform team you will build and evolve backend services and shared libraries that help engineers understand and operate their systems in production.

Youll work as a software-first engineer owning systems end to end while collaborating closely with SREs to ensure observability is built into the platform not bolted on.

• Design build and maintain production-grade services in Scala
• Own the full software development lifecycle including testing deployment and operational readiness
• Contribute to internal platforms and tooling that support metrics logs traces and service insights
• Partner with SREs and product teams to embed observability into services and development workflows
• Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews contributing to long-term reliability improvements

What were looking for

We value strong engineering fundamentals and problem-solving ability over years of experience.

Core requirements

• Strong experience building Scala-based backend systems tackling complex data-flow and concurrency challenges (e.g. with ZIO or Akka).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and production software
• Experience owning services end to end in a cloud-native environment
• Familiarity with modern SDLC practices (testing CI/CD monitoring)

Ideally you will also have

• Exposure or strong interest in observability concepts (metrics logs traces SLIs/SLOs)
• Familiarity with tools like Datadog Grafana Prometheus OpenTelemetry or similar
• Experience working alongside SRE or Platform teams
• Knowledge of Kubernetes Terraform(not mandatory) or cloud infrastructure

Most importantly youre curious and interested in learning how large-scale platforms are operated and observed in production.
