The Role

Fabric R&D Support Specialist - Tommy Hilfiger

The Fabric Support Specialist will play a critical supporting and organizational role in the sourcing and development of fabrics that align with Tommy Hilfigers design vision quality standards and cost objectives. This role is centered on coordination - facilitating seamless communication and alignment between cross-functional teams vendors and fabric mills - while partnering closely with Fabric Managers across TH Menswear TH Womenswear and TH Runway divisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support on fabric research activities including attending mill appointments and capturing trend-relevant materials

  • Support and organize seasonal fabric trend boards in alignment with design direction

  • Support Manager in following up with design production mills and overseas offices on outstanding fabric data to ensure on time delivery

  • Assist in ensuring product integrity and other fabric issues by reviewing SSY yardage charts and calling out exception-based issues to help resolve

  • Maintain archive of core/ running fabrics for Tommy Hilfiger library ensuring up to date accurate information and swatch inventory is replenished.

  • Maintain a library of fabrics that are representative of raw materials that could be used in bulk production

  • Systematically categorize and index fabrics to ensure easy accessibility and reference

  • Enter and maintain accurate fabric information in fabric databases and sample books

  • Oversee the coordination of incoming fabric submissions and ensure proper filing and documentation

  • Coordinate the packaging and shipment of fabric swatches yardage samples or finished garments between our mills and garment vendors efficiently.

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments with suppliers and mills

  • Support Fabric Managers with coordination of special sourcing initiatives and raw material innovation projects

Qualifications

  • College degree in fashion design textile or production fields preferred

  • 1-2 years in garment industry or fabric-related experience

  • Attention to detail and extremely organized

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines

  • Strong communication skills with overseas and cross functional partners

  • Basic computer knowledge proficient in excel and company systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Must be flexible adapting to business needs.
