The project and the team
We develop software for modern API Gateway platforms and operating systems for leading networking equipment manufacturers as well as various other cloud-native containerized services and solutions.
We are looking for an engineer with a strong background in web API development and management to migrate our customers to a new Gateway API platform.
What else you should know:
The project will be managed by Codilime EM but close cooperation with the clients representatives will be required
The project will require a lot of proactive exploration of the clients product configuration in order to migrate it properly to the new platform
You will get assistance from Codilime development team that is actively participating in target API GW platform development
Your role
As a part of the project team you will be responsible for:
Researching the current clients configuration in order to migrate it to the new platform
Taking part in technical discussions with clients stakeholders to understand their requirements and constraints
Creating necessary migration scripts (preferably using Python/JS) and writing any necessary middleware plugins (JS/Go)
Testing the newly created configuration in order to ensure that clients APIs work properly
Fixing bugs efficiently and effectively and find workarounds for blockers
Do we have a match
As a Senior WebAPI Engineer you must meet most of the following criteria:
Proficiency in Pyhon and/or JS programming
Web API protocols (Rest GraphQL gRPC Soap)
Authorization methods (OAuth2.0 JWT Basic Authentication etc.)
Other webAPI concepts (Api flows proxies data limiting)
Ability to work directly with the client
English at least B2 level C1/C2 preferred
Beyond the criteria above we would appreciate the nice-to-haves:
Practical experience with API Gateway platforms (e.g. ApiGee Tyk Kong)
Knowledge of theoretical principles and challenges of API management
Knowledge of Go programming language
Hands-on experience with CI/CD (Jenkins pipelines Ansible Helm etc.)
Strong customer-facing skills experience in communication with clients and requirements elicitation
Experience in working with Software Houses
