Description
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Deputy this position provides general administrative support to the agency utilizing general knowledge of agency programs policies and procedures. Provides high functioning knowledge of computer applications and performs receptionist and clerical duties consistent with a law enforcement agency.
Duties and Responsiblities
These duties represent the typical duties and responsibilities assigned to this position but may not be inclusive of all tasks performed.
- Responsible for comprehensive knowledge of department responsibilities and programs in order to answer general internal and external customer questions; ascertains the appropriate contact within the department or county or refers to an outside source in an efficientprofessionalmanner
- Serve as main agency receptionist in a professional and courteous manner.
- Receive prioritize and disseminate information to proper person or unit.
- Provides general administrative and clerical support services to the agency.
- Maintain clean and organized reception and resource areas.
- Secure meeting rooms as requested by staff.
- Participate as a team member of the Sheriffs Department to improve office efficiency and cooperatively solve problems
- Cross train and provide backup Law Enforcement Administrative Staff
- Fulfills the departments mission and purpose

Education/Experience:
- High School Graduate GED or HSED.
- Associate Degree in secretarial or related field preferred with two (2) years work experience (preferably in the legal field) or equivalent combination

General internet knowledge as it relates to web-based programs and demonstrated knowledge and skills in operation of transcription and electronic file maintenance.

- Takes place in standard office setting with a moderate noise level
- Utilizes office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines
- Position may require occasional travel to other County facilities training sites or community locations
- Duties may require occasional evening or weekend hours to meet business needs.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to:
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard telephone and other office equipment
- Talk and hear in person and by telephone
- Reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally stand walk bend stoop or lift up to 20 pounds.
