The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee (UWM) invites applications for a full-time teaching faculty position. This is a 9-month instructional academic staff position with the possibility of additional paid teaching opportunities over the summer. The teaching faculty position offers a competitive salary and full benefits. This appointment will be on a yearly renewable contract based on satisfactory performance and instructional needs of the department.
The successful applicant will be able to teach at the Bachelors Masters and PhD level in a subset of courses related to psychological and brain sciences. Particular needs include introduction to psychology child psychology psychology of gender advanced statistics and quantitative methods (e.g. an introduction to R) advanced classes in clinical psychology and behavioral neuroscience and advanced laboratory classes in behavioral neuroscience. Classes on other specialized topics in psychology may also be considered. The standard teaching load will be four classes per semester. It is expected that the successful candidate will start by Fall 2026 although applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis until the position has been filled.
The target hiring range for this position is $45000-$56000 academic basis. The final offer will be contingent upon the knowledge skills and abilities demonstrated throughout the selection process.
Applicants must have a PhD in Psychology Neuroscience Neurobiology or a related discipline at the time of the appointment.
Evidence of teaching experience in Psychology or Neuroscience.
Demonstrated ability in the design and delivery of courses in a variety of formats including in-person and online instruction.
Working knowledge of advanced statistical topics (e.g. linear mixed-effects models) and widely used statistical software applications (e.g. R).
An innovative approach to teaching including active learning opportunities and other examples of pedagogical best practices.
