Job Summary
We seek an entry or junior level designer with basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or other CAD platforms. The ideal candidate has an aptitude for 3D design a willingness to take on frequent field assignments and a proactive communicative personality eager to learn and grow.
Compensation: $28-38 per hour *Anticipated rate may vary based on qualifications experience and location.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update piping drawings and layouts using AutoCAD or similar CAD tools
- Assist in creating 2D and 3D models for piping systems
- Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to ensure design accuracy and compliance
- Conduct site visits for data collection and incorporate findings into design work
- Support design checks and integrate 3D scans into models as required
- Assist in performing 3D scans at client facilities
Job Requirements:
- 0 to 3 years in piping design or a related field
- Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design or equivalent technical training/experience
- Basic knowledge of piping fundamentals and drafting principles
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent design software
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to engage with co-workers and clients via Microsoft Teams
- Ability to travel frequently to a nearby refinery site location; occasional travel to other client sites possible
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to 3D modeling software (CADWorx Plant 3D Revit Solidworks Inventor)
- Familiarity with point clouds in a CAD environment
- Experience with Navisworks
Industry Requirements:
This role may require all or some of the following requirements at time of hire or during employment:
- RSO Safety Training and current card or ability to obtain.
- Client Safety Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
- TWIC Certification and current card or ability to obtain.
- Background screening including previous employment education criminal history and driving record verification.
- Participation in random drug and alcohol programs.
