Job Title: IT Security Engineer

Location: Ghent Belgium

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Security Engineer to strengthen our cybersecurity capabilities within a large international organization. You will play a key role in protecting both IT and OT environments detecting and responding to security threats managing vulnerabilities and implementing new security systems across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor detect analyze and respond to security threats and incidents across IT and OT environments
  

• Lead and support incident response activities including root cause analysis and remediation
  

• Manage vulnerability assessments prioritization and remediation in collaboration with internal teams
  

• Design implement and improve security controls tools and processes
  

• Support the implementation and rollout of new security systems and technologies across a large international business
  

• Work closely with IT OT and business stakeholders to ensure security requirements are met
  

• Contribute to security policies standards and best practices
  

• Stay up to date with emerging threats vulnerabilities and security trends
  

• Masters degree in Information Technology Cyber Security or a related field or equivalent experience
  

• 4 years of professional experience in IT security or cybersecurity roles
  

• Proven experience in:
  

  • Threat detection and monitoring
    

  • Incident response
    

  • Vulnerability management
    

• Solid understanding of IT security concepts and technologies
  

• Familiarity with OT security and the differences between IT and OT environments
  

• Experience implementing or deploying security systems in complex enterprise-scale environments
  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international context
  

• Communication in Dutch and English
  

• Experience with SIEM SOC operations or security monitoring platforms
  

• Knowledge of relevant security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 27001 NIST)
  

• Experience working in industrial manufacturing or critical infrastructure environments
