Position Criteria:
- High School education or equivalent required
- Iowa teaching certificate preferred
- Early Childhood or Elementary two or four-year degree preferred
- 2 years of proven successful experience working with children
- Managerial experience in a child care setting highly preferred
Performance Criteria:
- Responsible for daily operation of the program
- Supervision of Direct-Care Staff and Children within the program
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect children equipment materials and facilities
- Parent Communication- emergency serious incidents or behavior-related matters as well as time sensitive information regarding the program and operation etc.
- Create and distribute daily activity schedules to staff including individual responsibilities this includes upcoming no school days early outs and field trips.
- Maintaining staff to child ratio at all times during program operation
- Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation including staff and child files.
- Child Documentation- Including but not limited to child accident/ behavior reports (ensure all spaces are completed and filled out)
- Provide Staff with known child attendance changes
- Ensure Parent Communication Board has upcoming deadlines important news and notes posted
- Ensure all DHS (Department of Human Services) postings are posted- including but not limited to handwashing signs operation scheduling staff board snack calendar monthly news exposure to communicable disease postings etc.
- Maintain orderly and neat environment including cleanliness and organization of closets of storage and supplies tables and toys.
- Timeclock Approval
- Leave request approval
- Manage inventory and ordering including supplies and snacks
- Monthly Printing (staff attendance sheets sign-up sheets etc.)
- Create and distribute to parents monthly newsletters for the center.
- Complete standardized safety checklists drills and logs (playground fire/tornado boiler radon refrigerator/freezer emergency kit)
- Staff Evaluations
