We are seeking an experienced compassionate caregiver who understands that palliative care is as much about presence and listening as it is about hands-on care. This role is ideal for someone who is emotionally steady comfortable with serious illness and able to provide calm respectful support during tender seasons of life.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):
- Provide gentle respectful assistance with bathing grooming dressing and personal hygiene prioritizing comfort dignity and the clients preferences.
- Assist with mobility transfers ambulation and positioning with close attention to pain levels fatigue and energy conservation.
- Adapt care routines based on daily condition changes honoring comfort-focused goals of care.
- Medication Reminders:
- Provide accurate and timely medication reminders according to prescribed schedules with awareness of pain management and symptom-control regimens.
- Support clients in maintaining calm consistent medication routines and observe for changes in comfort side effects or response.
- Promptly communicate concerns or notable changes to the care team.
- Meal Preparation and Nutrition:
- Assist with meal planning and preparation while adhering to dietary requirements appetite changes and comfort needs.
- Monitor and gently encourage nutrition and hydration understanding that intake may fluctuate as illness progresses.
- Observe and report changes in appetite swallowing ability tolerance or nausea.
- Companionship and Social Interaction:
- Provide calm attentive companionship engaging in meaningful conversation when welcomed and offering quiet supportive presence when preferred.
- Support emotional well-being by listening with empathy and providing reassurance during moments of anxiety fatigue or vulnerability.
- Accompany clients to appointments and social activities as appropriate supporting both the client and family with professionalism and compassion.
- Health Monitoring:
- Observe and report changes in physical comfort pain levels breathing mobility mood cognition or overall condition.
- Recognize signs of symptom escalation or decline and communicate observations clearly and promptly to the care team.
- Document care provided comfort measures and any notable observations to support continuity of care and palliative care goals.
- Family Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate with family members in a clear compassionate and professional manner recognizing the emotional complexity that often accompanies serious illness.
- Provide appropriate updates regarding care routines comfort and observations while maintaining professional boundaries and respecting the established plan of care.
- Listen with empathy to family concerns and questions offering reassurance and support without providing medical advice beyond the caregiver role.
- Promptly relay changes concerns or family feedback to the care team to ensure coordinated responsive care.
- Support a calm respectful care environment by navigating family dynamics with discretion emotional maturity and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Be willing to work as part of a responsive care team with occasional short notice scheduling to support families in need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a palliative care caregiver
- Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively within a team
