Metro Transit is hiring a Project/Program Manager Ill for a Special Duty Assignmentwithin the Capital Divisions Project Management Office (PMO). This position supports the Capital Divisions standard management practices and systems that support the capital programs planning delivery and performance management. The PMOs work includes establishing and implementing best practices and maintaining standards related to all business processes needed to fulfill the Capital Divisions mission. Working with the PMO you will be part of a collaborative team applying and developing standards guidance tools and performance metrics. This special duty assignment supports three primary areas associated with the PMO including Data/Information Management Process Management and Knowledge Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily functions including SharePoint administrative support Capital Delivery Board supporting activities project team quality compliance support including key milestone logging and database upkeep (e.g. Airtable).
Process Management support help develop document communicate and educate on standards best practices; apply policies and create standard work; support continuous improvement efforts across systems tools and capitals knowledge base.

Recruitment Information:
This recruitment is intended to fill one (1) Special Duty Assignment (SDA)anticipated to last approximately 6 months. The actual duration may vary based on the discretion of the supervisor. Additionally this selection process may be used to establish an eligibility pool for future SDA vacancies within this classification in the Capital Division. The eligibility pool will remain active for 12 months from the posting date and may be extended or utilized at the hiring authoritys discretion.

As a Project/Program Manager Ill you will:
Make/modify recommendations for new systems processes standards and change.
Develop program methodologies conduct research apply new tools and concepts.
Manage data gathering and apply processes information distribution and dissemination.
Represent and advocate for the PMO to others and promote PMO services and products.
Conduct/lead technical meetings coordinate work by cross functional teams.
Coordinate review/comments on processes procedures standards or systems related to the program.
Provide technical expertise to perform research analysis and prototype new solutions.
Manage work orders or contracts related to PMO functional needs.
Develop and manage databases (Airtable) and may support SharePoint services as needed.
Perform other duties and related tasks as assigned.
Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for the position:
Abachelors degree in project management Engineering Business Administration Accounting Mathematics Statistics Education or closely related field OR any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the skills knowledge and abilities required to perform the work.
Demonstrated experience with Data/Information Management Process Management and/or Knowledge Management concepts.
Demonstrated applied knowledge of Project Management techniques and/or concepts.
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to complete tasks or assignments within specified deadlines.
Ability to work respectfully with others and establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of individuals from a variety of different positions and backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience working with teams in establishing and documenting standard process.
Demonstrated experience training others on standard processes.
Desirable Qualifications include:
Familiar with Project Management Institute (PMI) practices and/or hold a certification
Specialized training in process improvement and/or hold a certification.
Knowledge of Project Management principles including a good understanding of Project Management Institute Body of Knowledge. (PMBOK)
Demonstrated experience in SharePoint administration

Selection Process:

Work Schedule:
Our regular business hours are 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. However work outside of these hours may occasionally be required. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and therefore is not eligible for overtime pay.
Work Location:
The Capital Division works in a hybrid model with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is King Street Center 201 S. Jackson St Seattle WA 98104.
Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
