What are we looking for

TheEngineerposition is responsible forproviding engineering expertise to evaluate conformance of inverters energy storage systemssolar / photovoltaic panels solar racking and tracking systemsto industry standards creating evaluation reports and testplans conducting and/or witnessing testing resolving technical and/or administrative issues and providing Intertek customers with superior customer service. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $80000to $90000. What youll do:

  • Conduct evaluations of equipment as required to determine compliance with applicable standard(s)
  • Plan coordinate and execute project work and keep the client informed
  • Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions
  • Validate the project scope and sample applicability
  • Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing within the scope of the project
  • Set up and operate equipment under test (EUT)
  • Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include but are not limited to: rating leakagecurrent dielectric temperature pressure stability mechanical hazard flammability abnormal and fault insurance rain etc.
  • Perform utility interactive testing such as: response to abnormal voltage response to abnormal frequency unintentionalislanding harmonic distortion interconnection integrity etc.
  • Set up and operate standard test equipment including but not limited to: power analyzer oscilloscope load banks EMIequipment thermocouples and data loggers multi-meter dielectric strength tester ground continuity tester digital multimeter surge generator over-voltage tester environmental condition chamber and articulated probes. Use hand tools tobuild/calibrate test fixtures.
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical mechanicalpower systems renewables or similar engineering
  • 0 years directly related experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Microsoft Office expertise
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate up to 25%
  • Valid Drivers License with an acceptable driving record
  • Applicants will be required to complete an I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 2 years directly related experience
  • Prior project management experience
  • Prior experience with U.S. Canadian and other international product safety standards i.e. ANSI CSA UL EN IEC
  • experience with inverterPV and other energy equipment standards such as UL 2703 UL 61730 UL 61215 UL 1741 UL 9540 UL 2200 IEEE 1547 IEC 62109etc.
