Job Title:Part-Time Research Assistant Polymer Atomization
Position Summary:
The Ames Laboratory is seeking a motivated part-time Research Assistant to support ongoing research in polymer atomization. This position offers hands-on experience with advanced materials processing techniques and opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge scientific projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and Train Students:Provide guidance and technical training to undergraduate and new graduate students on the operation and maintenance of a novel polymer atomization system.
- Project Participation:Attend and contribute to project meetings offering insights on experimental progress.
- Research and Documentation:Assist in preparing journal articles technical reports and presentations related to polymer atomization research.
- Equipment Operation:Safely operate and troubleshoot specialized atomization equipment as-needed ensuring compliance with laboratory safety protocols.
- Additional Duties:Perform other tasks as assigned to support research objectives and team needs.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelors degree in Materials Science Chemical Engineering Polymer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of polymer processing and characterization techniques.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
- Preferred:Prior experience with atomization processes or powder production.
