Job Summary

Inspire and Belmont Day School we foster intellectual curiosity honor differences and empower meaningful contribution with excellence respect honesty responsibility caring and 6 Math TeacherBelmont Day School seeks a dynamic skilled and creative math teacher to teach middle school math in grade 6 serve as an advisor and collaborate with a collegial skilled team of a teacher and advisor this person will serve as an integral member of the middle school grade-level teams and the math department. Deep knowledge of and appreciation for teaching mathematics including knowledge of number properties decimals fractions percent measurement statistics geometry order of operations ratio number theory probability and algebraic thinking. A qualified candidate will also possess a strong enthusiasm and deep knowledge of middle school students a commitment to fostering and modeling our core values and a clear understanding and dedication to equity and inclusion and practicing anti-bias and culturally responsive is a full-time ten-month exempt and benefit-eligible position that reports to the middle school head and begins on August 24 2026. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored three sections of grade 6 regularly in collaborative planning meetings with the math department. Serve as a middle school a middle school and deliver rigorous effective and compelling curricular documentation of to ensure academic excellencethe ability of students to approach novel tasks with the confidence mindset and skills to accomplish them successfullyFoster an equitable and inclusive community in and outside of the high school recommendation letters for seventh grade students applying to independent high in one or more roles: Capstone mentor middle school athletics coach Growth Development and Belonging teacher or associate teacher with teams of colleagues to support co-curricular programming and the development of students beyond the careful anecdotal and assessment records to inform the writing of comprehensive student and assist in parent-teacher conferences focused on the social emotional and academic growth of middle school participate in the professional evaluation regular constructive and specific feedback to students to encourage their growth and improvement as readers writers and and maintain strong home-school partnerships with families to ensure students with students routinely by providing coverage at lunch recess and dismissal or other duties as additional responsibilities as degree required; advanced degree teaching middle school teaching the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum organizational appreciation for and commitment to building an inclusive and innovative community of written and verbal communication ability to infuse diversity equity inclusion and social justice concepts and themes into the academic and social-emotional curriculum as well as teaching classroom management and student and family understanding of and dedication to infusing anti-bias anti-racist and culturally responsive to develop a thematic to professional development and best practices in teaching and to effective use of technology in the energy patience collaborative spirit and offer competitive salaries and benefits and a compensation strategy that prioritizes pay equity for faculty with similar years of teaching experience and relevant advanced degrees.
