Internal Expression of Interest Water Quality Technical Adviser (24-Month Max-Term)

We would like to provide our internal workforce the opportunity to express their interest in the role of Water Quality Technical Adviser.

This role will report to Fiona Loadsmanand work closely with the Land & Water Operations Portfolio.

This is a Full-Time 24-Month Term (will possibility of extension) EA Grade 8opportunity.

The Role:

• Analyse and interpret data scientific literature and research findings to report on water quality. Provide sound advice on water quality issues both current and emerging.
• Support the implementation and management of holistic strategic priorities to protect water quality for the range of publish health environmental cultural and recreational values.
• Prepare technical reports presentations and supporting documentation for the management of drinking water quality from catchment to customer.
• Undertake risk assessments monitoring and evaluation to identify hazards issues and/or solutions to mitigate water quality risks. Undertake risk reviews to support water quality management for the implementation of relevant Water Quality Management Systems or Quality Assurance Plans
• Contribute to project delivery ensure quality of assigned tasks support strategic programs. Identify improvement opportunities to protect and enhance water quality as well as development of business processes to enable WaterNSW to deliver outcomes required by stakeholders regulators customers and clients.
  
  

What we are looking for:

• Tertiary qualifications in an environmental related discipline (science engineering planning management ecology sustainability).
• Demonstrated experience in water resource and/or catchment management with an emphasis on water quality and understanding of water quality hazard assessment and risk mitigation.
• Specialised knowledge in one or more of the nominated fields:
  • Drinking water quality management principles and guidelines
  • Aquatic ecosystems
  • Catchment and riverine hydrology or hydrogeology
• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement to drive improved outcomes and in the provision of technical and strategic advice to inform long term planning and strategy.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Current NSW Drivers Licence.
