Job Summary

Job Title: Senior Civil Construction Estimator

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Estimator to join our this pivotal role you will be responsible for all aspects of estimating for complex large-scale civil construction projects including site development road construction utility work and excavation projects. You will lead our estimating efforts mentor junior staff and ensure accurate competitive bids that drive company success and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze plans and specifications to fully understand the scope of work and accurately calculate total project costs including labor materials and equipment.
Assemble comprehensive well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner for hard bids and negotiated projects.
Manage the bid process by soliciting and managing pricing from vendors suppliers and subcontractors.
Conduct site reviews as necessary during planning and project execution phases.
Lead and mentor junior estimators fostering department knowledge and capacity.
Participate in planning and estimate review meetings working closely with project managers and the operations team.
Utilize estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid Agtek and Planswift.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: A Bachelors degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating with a strong background in heavy civil or site development projects.
Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of construction costs methods and materials. Proficiency in industry-specific estimating software is required.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership analytical negotiation and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and excellent communication abilities.
