Primary Care Physician Opening in Newtown Connecticut (60 miles from New York City)
Nuvance Health Medical Group is seeking a Primary Care Physician for our Newtown Primary Care & Specialty Practice office in Newtown CT to join our busy practice in a leadership role with clinical responsibilities with 3 Physicians 3 Physician Assistants and 1 LCSW. Newtown is a scenic small town located in Fairfield County in southwestern Connecticut about sixty miles from New York City.
This is an employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice. Competitive total compensation package including base salary incentive pay paid time off CME time off and allowance medical dental vision life disability and 401k match. Hiring bonus and relocation stipend may also be available.
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate Primary Care Family Medicine or Med/Peds Physician who will provide comprehensive care in a team-based environment to our population of patients as well as Medical Director Responsibilities. This includes not only caring for acute and chronic conditions but working with multidisciplinary support staff to promote the health and well-being of our entire panel of covered lives. This as a full-time office-based position providing out-patient services only utilizing a state-of-the-art Electronic Health Record fully integrated across all our hospitals and sites. The medical director is responsible for driving quality of care optimizing patient access and ensuring top decile patient experience scores for the practice. This is a full-time office-based position providing out-patient services only with limited on call obligations.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work directly with providers to educate to our care process and determine what can be done to improve overall care quality
- Manage activities related to the delivery of medical care and clinical services such as cost management utilization review quality assurance and medical protocol development
- Participate in various administrative and clinical staff meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to participants medical staff and employees
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations
- Oversee the activities of physicians/APPs including the recruiting and credentialing processes
- Assist in the development of practice-based policy and procedures
Job Requirements:
- MD or DO with CT State License Federal DEA and State Controlled Substance Registration
- Have successfully completed a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine/Peds Residency
- Previous experience as a Primary Care Physician preferred but new grads welcome to apply
- Must be Board Certified or be Board Eligible
- Off-hour coverage Shared among multiple providers phone-calls only with nurse triage

Salary range: $275000-$285000 dependent upon experience.
