Senior Civil Engineer Highways and Transportation
Roughan & ODonovan is seeking to recruit a senior civil engineer with eight to 15 years experience for a permanent position within our expanding transportation team in Leeds UK.

About the role
You will join a team of transportation experts providing integrated transportation planning and design services across road rail bus rapid transit cycleway and pedestrian schemes.
Our team has the experience and skills to cover the full life cycle of transport assets - from early-stage investigations and modelling through construction management to ongoing asset maintenance.
We deploy state-of-the-art traffic and transport modelling technologies to support informed resilient and sustainable transport solutions.
Current and recent projects include:
Liffey Valley to City Centre
Essential
Honours degree incivil engineering (minimum Level 8 qualificationin the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
Eight to 15 years postgraduate experience in the civil engineeringsector
Minimum of five years direct experience in design for transportationprojects
Chartered membership of a recognised professional body in the engineering sector
KnowledgeofUK/Irishdesignstandardse.g. DMRB Manual for Streets LTN 1/20 MCHWetc.
Experience of preparing detailed works contractspecifications
Excellent report writing and verbal communicationskills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to produce quality designoutputs
Comfortable working in a busy work environment with tightdeadlines
Aptitude forproblem-solving
Flexible motivated andfocused
Keen to learn anddevelop
Good organisational skills
A strong workethic
Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and writtenEnglish
Desirable
Knowledge of 3D roads design software e.g. Openroads MX and Civil3D
Knowledge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and National Transport Authority (NTA) project managementguidelines
