An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Transport Projects & Programmes team within the Environment and Transport Department. This role will sit within a sub-team which supports the management of the Departments capital programme. The role will have a particular focus on developing our public engagement and transparency through data reporting and efficient comms as well as improving co-ordination across the Department.

The successful applicant will join a motivated friendly team of professionals committed to delivering public sector highway projects and programmes that offer best value for money.

About the Role

You will assist theSenior Project Manager with the project management development and delivery of improvement programmes and projects including project governance and reporting consultations financial and monitoring agreements to ensure that schemes are delivered to time quality and cost.

You will play a key co-ordination role in handling and responding to enquiries from Members and the public supporting effective partnerships and working relationships with internal teams.

You will develop new methods of engagement and reporting and keep these up-to-date with responsibility for protecting and managing information securely.

You will support the performance management of services and teams through contributing to the departmental business planning process as required and ensuring activities are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner as possible.

About You

To apply for this post you must have:

  • A relevant qualification and/or demonstrable experience commensurate with the role.
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment and delivering projects and programmes to time quality and cost.
  • Experience of maintaining effective partnerships and workingrelationships with internal and external stakeholders which can include statutory voluntary private agencies and communities.
  • Good IT skills including the ability to learn the use of service specific systems and software.
  • Excellent communication presentation and report writing skills.
  • A customer focused approach where the customer experience is central to the delivery of the service.

You must also have an understanding of and commitment toequality diversity and inclusion.
