Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

• Develop and execute EHS strategies and improvement roadmaps aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements

• Establish maintain and update EHS management systems in line with ISO standards including planning and execution of internal/external audits

• Define track and report key EHS and operational performance indicators

• Advice top leadership on maintenance of EHS equipment as per planner/schedule to ensure the reliability and availability during the requirement

• To Prepare annual EHS budget by considering the gaps emerging out of audits & inspections enforcement of new rules / amendment and the trend of EHS material consumption

Process Improvement & Implementation

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Kaizen 5S) to enhance safety performance and eliminate process inefficiencies.

• Steer continuous improvement initiatives (using AI tools) to enhance the safety management system and eliminate more time taking inefficient work

• Drive systematic root-cause analysis and corrective actions using PDCA 8D and related methodologies while investigating EHS events or incidents

• Lead and manage in most efficient manner all the EHS team members by providing suitable support to the site team in implementing Site EHS Plan

• Review & monitor implementation of Behavior Based Safety procedures by site non-EHS team at all project sites

• Review & advise site management on legal exposure and EHS concerns related to any change or decision managed at project levels

• Motivate and support the site teams towards continuous improvement in developing and implementing best EHS practices for the business

• Coordinate & Monitor effectiveness of the project site related rules defined in the Project EHS plan advise on necessary revision & updates in agreement with the Site EHS Manager and Site Manager and take appropriate actions in the event of any non-compliance.

• Define & manage EHS Subcontractor audit program along with site EHS team to monitor compliance with all relevant statutory regulatory contractual and company requirements

• Carry out audit inspections and surveys to monitor the EHS system effectiveness at all project sites on periodic basis

• Implement Review and monitor compliance related to Site Emergency Plans Security programs and site access control procedures for all project sites

Operational Excellence using Lean/ continuous Improvement (CI)

• Initiate & Implement Lean and CI initiatives across operations to improve safety reduce risks and enhance first time-right execution

• Implement and coach lean tools such as 5S visual management standard work VSM daily management systems etc.

• Steer and manage in most efficient manner all the EHS team members by providing suitable support to the site team in implementing Site EHS Management System

Leadership & Culture

• Build a proactive safety culture focused on accountability compliance and continuous improvement

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement problem-solving and accountability at all levels of the organization

• Strengthen cross-functional collaboration to embed EHS requirements throughout operational processes

• Coordinate & implement GENBA and Kaizen engagements to assess field conditions engage frontline teams and identify improvement opportunities

• Champion a culture of SQDC in all operations first-time-right execution proactive risk management

• Review & monitor implementation of Behavior Based Safety procedures by site non-EHS team at all project sites

• Motivate and support the site teams towards continuous improvement in developing and implementing best EHS practices for the business

Data Analytics & Performance Management

• To prepare EHS yearly KPIs for raising EHS standard to comply laid down practices

• Define monitor & review all EHS & OHSMS KPIs for the business and ensure their implementation across project sites

• Deliver dashboards and leadership reviews including monthly EHS/CI performance updates project status and validated savings

• Define and monitor actions for improving EHS Performance during Project Construction & Commissioning and reduce likelihood and severity of EHS events and Site Security breaches

• Monitor & Review implementation of Commissioning Safety Rules thereby taking appropriate actions in the event of any non-compliance at relevant project sites

• Define & monitor the EHS Training program for all site personnel in co-ordination with Site EHS Managers of respective project sites

• Ensure all Accidents/Incidents are recorded thoroughly investigated and analyzed to prevent reoccurrence & corrective actions are implemented as per RCA

Basic Qualifications(requirements):

• B.E/ B. Tech in Engineering with post graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety. 15-20 years of experience in Project & Service EHS function of Steam or Hydro or both.

• Strong operational rigor: able to make confident decisions when problems or solutions are not fully defined.

• Strong influencing facilitation and negotiation skills with a solutionfocused mindset

• Having familiarity with project management approaches tools & phases of project lifecycle
