This position is a senior-level position responsible for development management and enhancement of university web properties. This role involves leading projects collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring that all digital communication aligns with the Universitys strategic goals. This position serves as a primary expert in web technologies guiding the implementation of best practices and driving innovation in digital projects.
Essential Job Duties
- Lead the design creation modification and maintenance of complex university-affiliated websites andapplications;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to execute digital strategies that meet institutionalgoals;
- Coordinate the development and testing of web applications ensuring optimization for variousbrowsers/devices;
- Support the management and customization of the UniversitysCMS;
- Provide advanced training and support to team members and stakeholders regarding CMS usage and web development best practices;
- Ensure all web-based content complies with current and ongoing accessibility standards and bestpractices;
- Mentor and guide juniordevelopers;
- Stay ahead of emerging web development trends and technologies implementing innovative solutions that enhance user experience and site performance;
- Perform all other duties asassigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:- Drive continuous improvement in web development processes andmethodologies;
- Represent the web development team in cross-departmental meetings and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required;
- Minimum of five years of experience in web development with a focus on/serving as the lead of digital projects is required;
- Advanced proficiency in HTML5CSSPHP MySQL jQueryand JavaScript arerequired;
- Bachelors degree or higher in a related fieldis preferred;
- Experience in related technologies ispreferred;
- Extensive experience with CMS particularly in higher education or enterprise environments ispreferred;
- Experience mentoring junior developers ispreferred.
