Job Summary

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in preparations and meetings of the NDC relevant working parties and other events including:
    • Preparation of the NEAs annual Roadmaps to New Nuclear Ministerial Meeting with invitational materials meeting documents and logistical preparations.
    • Support NEAs workforce initiative Plan 2035 for early outreach to student interested in science technology environment and mathematic (STEM) careers related to nuclear energy with initiative materials website management and student engagement strategies;
  • Support the Head of NTE Division in all aspects of activities relating to Advice to Policymakers (drafting of notes preparation of presentation organisation of events and other) as requested;
  • Contribute to researching and collecting data and information for NTE studies and reports;
  • Contribute to undertaking quantitative and qualitative analyses of country energy policy and investments with a focus on the role of nuclear in future low-carbon energy strategies and a source of reliable baseload power;
  • Assist in the general drafting and preparation of reports; and
  • Carry out any other related duties as assigned by senior staff or management.

Qualifications :

Ideal Candidate Profile

Academic Background

  • A bachelors degree in relevant disciplines such as economics energy policy nuclear engineering power system engineering or natural sciences.

Professional Background

  • At least two years of experience in areas related to clean energy systems analysis.
  • An understanding of the contributions that nuclear energy as a dispatchable low-carbon baseload provider brings to carbon emission reductions as well as of the opportunities and challenges that nuclear energy faces in modern low-carbon electricity systems.
  • At least some experience in leading managing and concluding research projects in the field of energy analysis.
  • Experience in synthesising drafting and publishing the results of analytical work or modelling work for different audiences which may include other experts policymakers or the broader public.
  • Experience in organising and coordinating international workshops and large-scale events.

Tools

  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office software in particular Excel.

Contract Duration

  • 12 month fixed-term appointment with the possibility of renewal to a maximum of 36 months.
