We are looking for someone to join our team as a Fire Protection Engineer for our Vancouver office. In the heart of building projects this role will be responsible for designing fire protection systems in accordance with the clients requirements plans and specifications as well as project standards and regulations in the commercial industrial institutional and healthcare sectors. The candidate should be driven to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges as well as accompanying the clients through the design process.
While working from the Vancouver office youll be able to take advantage of a hybrid work model.
Primary Responsibilities
- Designing fire protection systems including sprinkler systems gas suppression system and aerosol-based systems.
- Carry out field surveys and drawing of the surveys (measurements and location of the system components
- Produce plans diagrams fire matrix hydraulic calculation specifications etc.
- Ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Conduct field visits and participate in certain stages of supervision of the work.
- Realization of audible and visual fire alarm signalling.
- Collect and analyze all the information necessary for the design;
- Identify the standards regulations and organizations governing the design and installation of fire protection systems for all mechanical aspects;
- Coordinate with internal and external project teams;
- Ensure that budgets and deadlines are respected.
Qualifications :
- A recognized mechanical engineering degree and a P. Eng. designation
- Knowledge of fire protection codes and regulation standards Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in fire protection;
- Mastering computer-aided drawing with Autocad/Revit
- Valid drivers license.
- Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrate a commitment to client service
