SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations the Senior Accountant leads and oversees FH Canadas financial operations ensuring accurate reporting strong internal controls and transparent stewardship of donor funds. This role provides timely financial insight to senior leadership and the Board to support informed decision-making and sustainable growth.

THE JOB
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations including payroll benefits administration accounts payable and receivable and journal entry review.
- Prepare filings annual donor tax receipts and oversee the annual audit.
- Produce monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports for leadership and the Board.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP CRA guidelines and FH Canada policies.
- Support budgeting cash flow forecasting investment tracking and foreign exchange activities.
- Provide financial support for grants donor reporting and international programs.
- Identify and implement improvements to systems processes and reporting.
- Supervise and mentor the Accountant fostering a collaborative and learning-focused team culture.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A university degree in Accounting or Business; CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 5 years of accounting experience with supervisory experience an asset.
- Experience in non-profit or charitable organizations including donor-restricted funding.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian non-profit financial reporting and CRA compliance.
- High attention to detail strong analytical skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort working independently in a deadline-driven hybrid environment.
- Personal and professional dedication to FH Canadas core values and comfortable working in a Christian environment.
- Secure home workspace with reliable based internet connection required.
THE DETAILS
This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offers a flexible work schedule combining the convenience of home-based work with the collaboration of in-office time. We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $75000 to $85000 along with a full suite of additional benefits including 100% employer-paid medical and dental coverage RRSP matching and ample paid time off to support a healthy work-life balance.
