Responsibilities
Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
- Build relationships with current and potential customers to determine truck parts needs.
- Make outgoing customer sales calls or in-person visits as needed to achieve sales goals.
- Grow department front counter sales and gross profit.
Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Converse effectively/efficiently regarding customer parts status.
Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts.
Answer phone calls provide price quotes and other information to customers.
Review body shop estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
Provide high level service to both internal and external customers.
Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.
Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order if necessary.
Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
Receive payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
Check in new shipments for all vendors daily.
Pull customer orders as reflected on picking list and place in will-call shipment or dispatch for delivery.
Maintain will-call parts ensuring you pull and transfer to appropriate bin and paperwork associated with order is placed with parts.
Dispatch parts drivers to addresses indicated on the sales invoice or purchase order.
- Deliver parts to customers on emergency basis.
- Provide backup support to the Service Department in assisting customers initiating the repair order process and implementing workflow procedures.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum two (2) years prior commercial truck parts sales experience
Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment
Strong interpersonal and time management skills
Professional well-groomed personal appearance
Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents
Ability to calculate figures/amounts including; discounts interest commissions proportions % area circumference and volume
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Ability to lift 60 lbs and work at heights of 10feet or more
Forklift certified or willingness to be certified within 30 days of hire
